PEN NAME: Marione Ashley

STORY BEHIND YOUR PEN NAME: Marione was a combination of my first name and my ex-crush name. Ashley, well, because it starts with letter A. It was a variation of Ashleigh, the real pen name I passed. Our publisher decided to use Ashley.

MOTTO IN LIFE: Always believe in yourself because no one else will do it except you and you alone. (And that was actually made by me. Imbento lang.)

WHAT IS LOVE?: Love is when you realize you are happy because he is beside you. (Hulaan niyo kung saang novel galing `yan. Ahaha!)

YOUR IDEAL MAN: Mature. The one who could understand me most. `Yong kayang sakyan lahat ng trip ko. `Yong kayang pagtiyagaan lahat ng kalokohan ko. `Yong tanggap lahat ng pagkukulang ko bilang isang tao. `Yong lalaking mamahalin pa rin ako kahit na hindi ko ganoon kamahal ang sarili ko. I could summarize it into six-letter word. Chos :)

YOUR DREAM GUY: X. I mean,  Cross, Gideon Cross. Hohohoho!

WHEN DID YOU START WRITING?: Fourteen yata. I started writing love poems. Then I tried writing tragic love stories on my phone and would pass the stories I had made to my friends.

WHY DID YOU PASS A NOVEL ON A PUBLICATION HOUSE?: Gusto ko kasing itaas ang self-confidence ko that time. Chos! It was because of my friends, actually. And really, pangarap kong makita ang pen name ko sa front cover ng pocketbook.

HOW DOES IT FEEL THAT FINALLY, YOU ARE NOW A WRITER?: I'm happy. Overjoyed. Ecstatic. Overwhelmed. Ah. Basta.

WHAT ARE THE REACTIONS OF YOUR FAMILY WHEN THEY HEARD THAT YOU'RE NOW A WRITER?: They're glad for me. And was proud of what I had achieved.

WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION WHEN YOUR FIRST NOVEL WAS ACCEPTED? WHEN IT WAS RELEASED IN THE MARKET?: There are no words to describe what I felt when I received the message that my manuscript was approved. Feeling happy was an understatement. Basta. It was released last October, 2010 and to be honest, aside from giddiness and happiness, I was nervous as well since it was my first novel.

WHO/WHAT ARE YOUR INSPIRATIONS IN WRITING?: Every thing under the sun.

ANY TIPS FOR THE ASPIRING WRITERS OUT THERE?: Just keep on writing no matter what happens. No matter how many times you wanted to stop. No matter how many times people told you to stop. No matter how many times you felt like giving up. Don't. Stop. Writing. Just write. Promise, it's all worth it in the end.

ANY FUTURE PLANS FOR YOUR WRITING CAREER?: I want to write a series. `Yong official na.  Of course, I want to explore this talent given by Him. I want to grow as a writer. I want to improve. I want to write a sizzling love scene. Chos!
